3 Hamburgers That The Candidates Remind Me Of

Did anyone see the debates last night? While it made several viewers sleepy — it made me hungry.

Think about it — if Obama and McCain were campaigning to be my meals, then they’d probably be fighting each other out on my menu. Listening to them, I couldn’t help but think of hamburgers.  What’s more American than a hamburger?  We all love ‘em!

McCain is a traditional hamburger. The kind you’d find in an old-fashioned diner, (that is, if you could find a diner, even!) this is the kind of burger you ate as a kid when there wasn’t a McDonald’s nearby. The kind you find in little snack stalls along the beach. The farthest this invention has gone? Adding cheese in between. Which, at the time, seemed brilliant, but doesn’t exactly satiate the modern man’s tastes. You loved eating it — that is, until you discovered that there were different kinds of burgers out there.

Obama is a Luther Burger. If you’ve never heard of this epicurean delight, then where have you been?! It’s basically a bacon cheeseburger, sandwiched in-between two grilled glazed donuts. (And by glazed donuts, I mean the type that comes from Krispy Kreme, of course) Traditional burger lovers need a bit of convincing to trying this out, but a majority of people seem to be open-minded even at how different it is. It’s a promise of something new, in an incredible new package. Sweet on the outside, with all the real meat in the middle. If you haven’t tried it — it’s very addicting. Although obviously, too much of it’s bad for you.

As a bonus, how could we forget Palin?!

Palin is the Quad Stacker. A heart attack in the making. A modification of the traditional burger, it has four 2.2 ounces of grilled beef patties, American cheese, bacon and special Stacker sauce. Calories from fat in one? 620. Cholesterol? 240 mg. It may start out as any other affair with a burger, but after one you might end up somewhere else. It is decidedly unhealthy, and doesn’t even attempt at covering up that fact. If you are, in any way concerned with your burger-consuming future, steer clear of this one.

So who wants a traditional burger? How about a luther burger? Care for a Quad Stacker? The elections is a serious matter, and this comparison in no way reflects how supporters of their respective parties want their burgers. I mean, hopefully we could still afford burgers next year. :D

3 reasons why I hate the new Yahoo Messenger!

The most recent version of Yahoo! Messenger is Yahoo! Messenger 9. And with this new version release, it would be very hard to not compare it to an older version of it: Yahoo! Here are some things that suck in this version.
http://www.dezinerfolio.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/messenger_vista.jpg
1.    The avatars of each contact in Yahoo! Messenger 9 are just too big! It is beneficial in the sense that one can easily see each contact’s avatar right away. But on a negative note, if there are a lot of contacts on a person’s list, it will be very difficult to keep scrolling down just to find a certain contact!

2.    In older versions, when one is in the middle of chatting or messaging, when you try to press the up arrow key the last thing entered into the screen will appear again (and it goes on every time that key is pressed). But in this recent version, there seems to be something wrong every time that key is pressed! Instead of displaying the last message entered, it jumps to other messages.

3.    In older versions, when one contact is in Idle status, it is very easy to see how log that contact has been idle for. But in the newer version, the only thing that will be seen is that the person is in the Idle status. Although this point may not be such a big deal to most people, it may be important for some.

On a brighter note, Yahoo! Messenger 9 does look pretty good in the sense that there are customizable themes and improved avatars. More importantly, when one sends files through it, it is automatically scanned by Norton Anti-Virus!

But, it still sucks. I guess I’ll have to go back to other IM Clients.

The new Firefox sucks bigtime!

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6250/firefoxyb4.jpg

Here I am, trying to research something about improving my composing technique at the same time writing a blog about it. Then this super reliable Firefox suddenly pops-up a message saying, “An error occurred blah blah, would you like to send a report?” I was like, WTF! I am almost done with what I am doing that took me hours to complete and this happens!?

Talk about a bad day gone worst! My internet connection sucks bigtime too!!! Get this, I am subscribed at around 1mbps of speed and I get less than 100kbps. Can you friggin’ imagine that!?

I hope Firefox improves. For those who hasn’t updated their Firefox yet, don’t please. Don’t! Sorry for ranting here…
